Ibiza - The Beaches
Many traveled People say Ibiza has the best beaches in the mediterranean sea. Beautiful suroundings and clear waters backed by vegetation almost to the waters edge, highlighted with clean and clear sands. There is a wide variety of types of beaches, you can find from lonely hidden innlets to big wide beaches with lots of different services such as watersports facilities, bars and restaurants, public transports, first-aid, etc...From the 210km of coastline, 18km are beaches(about 56).
You have the chance to learn the art of sailing and scuba diving at apropiate official schools all around the island.There is a also a wide variety of renting facilities where you can rent canoes, windsurfing equipment, pedal boats and even waterbikes. divers specially apreciate the island because of it's transparent waters and colourful seabeds. Sailing is one of the main watersporting activities because of the wide variety of beaches and coves there are to visit at both Ibiza and Formentera.Through the years the Islands,specially Ibiza,have developed excellent docking facilities and places like Cala Salada, Platja d'en Bossa, Talamanca, Figueretas and Cala Vadella are the most chosen anchoring spots. Las Salinas,now a Wildlife conservation area, is the most visited beach because of its great watersport facilities, incredible surroundings,cristal clear waters and cooool! beach bars.
Santa Eulalia des Riu is one of the islands most important holiday areas,it is also the richest and biggest with a great amount of beaches and touristic facilities.
San Antonio is the second biggest city on the Island after Ibiza town, a very important touristic area. in contrast the northern part, known as Els Amunts that is practically virgin and scarcely touched by civilisation its coasts are sheer and rugged.
